Luke's Two Year Old Check-Up

I took Luke last Thursday for his 2 year old check-up. He weighed 29 pounds and was 36 3/4 inches long. He was in the 50th percentile for weight and 90-95th percentile for height. He is growing up so fast. He is starting to become very independent. He has a red stool that he will go and get when he can't reach something and will say," Luke do it" when he wants to do something himself. He loves watching Mickey Mouse, Barney, and the Braves. We were watching the Braves game the other night and I changed the channel. He just gave me the dirtiest look and said,"No, Watch Braves." He is a mess, but such a cute mess. He is so much fun.

First Day of School

Tyler and Jake both started school this week. Jake started Kindergarten on Thursday. Kindergarten started a day before the other grades just to give them a feel for the school before all the other kids got there. Jake was such a big boy going to school without Tyler. He seemed to really like it. He said he liked his teacher, Mrs.Parmer, and that he liked the different centers that they did. He's already said he likes Kindergarten better than Pre-K. Tyler started 2nd grade Friday. He seemed to like it as well. His teacher is Mrs. Dorough. I think they will both have a great school year. They are excited about it.

Beach Trip # 2

We were very fortunate this year that we got to go to the beach twice. We went back to Orange Beach this past week with May-May and Paw-Paw, Joe and his family and Amy and her family. We had beautiful weather and we all had a great time. Thanks May-May and Paw-Paw for a wonderful vacation.

Luke Turns 2

We celebrated Luke's birthday on Friday, July 3rd at May May and Paw Paw's house. May May fixed some great barbeque and we all enjoyed cake and ice cream. Luke received some great gifts. He has had a lot of fun with all of them, especially his train set. That evening we went with some friends and watched the fireworks in Villa Rica. Luke really liked those and would clap and say "Whoa" after each one. I can't believe he is already 2. He is growing up so fast. Happy Birthday, Luke. We love you.

Tyler's Baseball Camp

We had a great week in Rome this past week. Tyler attended the Rome Braves baseball camp. He had a blast. Actual Rome Braves players taught him different fundamentals of baseball. The first day was catching and fielding, the second was hitting and base running and on the third day they played actual baseball games. He also enjoyed attending the Rome Braves games Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On Wednesday night before the game all the participants of the camp were recognized on the field. When Tyler wasn’t at the camp he was either going to the batting cages, playing baseball in the yard, or watching the Atlanta Braves with Paw Paw. He is obsessed. He loves everything about the sport. It was a fun week and one I am sure he will remember for a long time.

Beach Video

We have finally figured out how to post video so I wanted to include a few clips from our beach trip. The first one is of Jake with his net trying to catch fish. The second clip is of Luke once he finally decides to jump into the pool and the third one is of Tyler catching a wave.

Beach Trip

We just got back from Orange Beach, AL this past Thursday. We all had a great time. The boys all really enjoyed themselves. The weather was great and the beach was so nice. There was a nice little inlet at the ocean where the boys enjoyed wading and catching fish. We enjoyed mornings at the ocean and afternoons at the pool. The evenings were filled with go-carts, baseball on the beach, and games of poker with the family. Below are a few slideshows that capture some of the best moments. I had to divide them into three because I had too many pictures for each one.
