Jake Loses His First Tooth

Jake lost his first tooth last night. It had been loose for a while. He was upstairs and he just came down and said that his tooth was wiggly, and it was. John was able to pull it out very easily. He was excited for the tooth fairy to come and see him and was pleased when he found five dollars under his pillow this morning. However, the tooth fairy will not be quite as generous with the next tooth.

Luke had to have his picture taken too

Halloween

Here are some pictures of the boys on Halloween. It was a rainy day but we managed to get in trick or treating. The boys had fun. Tyler and Jake were both football players. Jake was going to be Spider-Man but decided at the last minute that he didn't like his costume and that it looked funny, so he was a football player like Tyler. Luke was Thomas the Train.

Zoo/ Pumpkin Patch Weekend

We had a busy weekend. Saturday we were invited to go to the Atlanta Zoo with some friends of ours. They had some free passes and they were having Boo at the Zoo where the kids got to trick or treat at the zoo. The boys had a lot of fun. It was their first trip to the Atlanta Zoo and John's first trip to the zoo ever. Sunday afternoon we went to Jellystone Park. We had never been there before but the boys brought a flyer home from school about it and it looked like fun. However it was not what we expected. I have to say we were disappointed. The "pumpkin patch" was just a few pumpkins thrown in the grass and it was very crowded and disorganized. We went with Avery and his family, so the kids had fun playing anyway. They did get to fish for some toy fish that were in a pool which seemed to be the highlight of the trip. Oh well, live and learn. Next year we will have to go to a real pumpkin patch.

Zoo Trip

The boys and I went to Auburn for the weekend to visit Amy and her family. While we were there we went to the Montgomery Zoo. It was very humid but at least the rain held off. We all had a good time. Jake and Luke especially liked seeing all the animals. Luke kept asking to see more animals and Jake held onto his map of the zoo the whole time to make sure we didn't miss anything. The snakes and anteater were Jake's favorite. Tyler liked the monkeys and I think Luke liked them all. It was a fun weekend. Jake's already asking me when we can go back.

Luke Takes After His Mama

Luke decided he wanted something to drink from the refrigerator. He opened it up, climbed inside, went to the top shelf and grabbed for a sippy cup. The cup fell to the floor with a thud. Luke promptly yells "cwap". He then settled for some "doo doo nacks". In case you don't know what "doo doo nacks" are they are Scooby Doo fruit snacks. This boy is something else.

It's a GIRL!!

We went for our ultrasound yesterday and got some exciting news. We are having a GIRL. I couldn't believe it. I just kept asking the ultrasound technician if she was sure. She assured me she was. Needless to say, we are thrilled. Everything on the ultrasound looked good too. We are so blessed and thankful for our family and all that God has given us. She is due January 28th, 2010. It still feels weird to say "she" but it is a feeling I can definitely get used to. The boys were excited about their little sister. They will be awesome big brothers to her. Jake did however make me promise him that we would not be having any more babies after this. He said our family is getting too big. I assured him this was it. She will definitely complete our family.

Happy 40th Birthday John!

John turned 40 this past Tuesday. We kept it pretty quiet and just had a nice dinner at home. We grilled out steaks and had a salad and baked potatoes with pound cake for dessert. We did get to celebrate with his family on Saturday and had a great time. It was good to see everyone. John has taken turning 40 really well. It hasn't seemed to really bother him, no mid-life crisis, not yet anyway. Happy Birthday! We love you.

Doesn't he look thrilled
