We had our end of the season baseball party last night for Tyler's team. It was a pool party at one of the player's neighborhood pool. It rained some, so the boys didn't get to swim much, but they all enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs, cake, and receiving their trophies. John really enjoyed his team this year and had a lot of great kids and parents. It was a fun night and a great end to a great season.
We have had a busy spring with Tyler and Jake both playing baseball this year. John coached Tyler again this year and their team was the Sand Gnats. They had a great season and ended up 10-1. Tyler was #6 and played second base. He did really well this year and even made the All-Star team which will be starting up this week. Jake played tee-ball and his team was the Grasshoppers. He was #7 and played shortstop. His team finished second in the tee-ball tournament and each player received a trophy for being the runner-up. It was a fun season. Jake said he's not sure he wants to play again next year. He is really looking forward to playing basketball this fall. I don't think he has quite the love for baseball that Tyler does. Basketball may be his thing. Who knows? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Jake turned six on the 14th. We kept it simple and just had a small party at our house. Jake had a tee ball game that night so May-May and Paw-Paw came down for the game and we ate dinner at Zaxby's before the game and had cake and ice cream afterwards. Jake was pleased to get his own Nintendo DS and several more toy sea animals and sharks. Jake also had his last day of Kindergarten Thursday. He really learned alot this year. He is reading well into a second grade level and he loves to write books. He received the award in his class for "Best Creative Writer." His teacher calls him her little "author." He was sad to be out of school because he said he would miss doing all of his school work. Here are a few highlights from his birthday and last day of school.
Megan is three months old today. She is getting to be such a big girl, literally. She has pretty much already outgrown her 6-9 month old clothes I had bought for her this summer and is already wearing 12-18 month old clothes. She is doing good though, and as you can see, eating well. I am looking forward to next month when she can start some baby foods and cereal. She is still waking up at night, usually just once. She is beginning to laugh and loves to be talked to and will "talk" back. She is growing up so fast. They just don't stay babies for very long.
We had a great Easter. We had an Easter egg hunt at church Saturday and then enjoyed a nice service at church Sunday and an afternoon visit from May-May and Paw-Paw. I got a few good pictures of Luke at the egg hunt, but not many good ones on Easter day. Since the ones I took didn't turn out very good, I am posting some of the the Easter pictures I had taken at Target.
The boys with their friend Avery
This is the best picture I got. I finally just gave up.
Megan turns two months old today. She is doing great and getting to be quite the chunk. She is really filling out. She smiles alot now and seems to be happier most times. I guess she may be finally getting use to us and her big brothers. Below is the picture I took of her in her rocking chair and one of her smiling. There is a glare on the one of her smiling so it is not the best picture, but I thought is was cute of her smile.
At her two month check-up she weighed 14 lbs. 7 oz. and was 23 inches long.
