Tyler's First Baseball Game

Well the day finally came for Tyler. He has waited so long for his first real baseball game. We have had so much rain lately that the games kept getting postponed, but yesterday was beautiful and the perfect day for a game. The game started at 6:00 but Tyler was dressed and ready at 4:30. He was so excited. They had a great first game and won 13-1. Tyler went 3 for 3 with two singles and a double. He also fielded a ground ball at second base and made a great throw to first. He was thrilled and had a great time. I think John enjoyed his first coaching experience as well. He had as much fun as Tyler.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend with many egg hunts and Easter parties. Thursday Jake had his school party and egg hunt. Saturday our church had Breakfast with the Bunny and a big egg hunt and on Sunday we headed up to LaFayette after church to celebrate Grandma and Katie’s birthdays. The whole family was there and we had a great visit. It is fun to have all the parties and egg hunts but we remember the real reason we celebrate, He is Risen!

Welcome to the White House Sadie

Today we have added a new addition to our family. Tyler has gotten the much anticipated dog he has been promised for so long. After going back and forth about what kind of dog to get, we decided to take my brother Joe's dog, Sadie the boxer. He has two other dogs and three was just too many. I think we made the right choice. I know it has only been one day but she is such a sweet dog. I think she will be just the right dog for our family. Tyler loves her already. They have already been playing fetch and "follow the dog" around the backyard. Thanks Joe and Stacy for such a great dog. Now you can officially be Sanders 3 dogs minus 1.

The Rest of Spring Break

The rest of Spring Break week included a trip to the mall, feeding the ducks, and bowling. At the mall the boys got to visit the Easter bunny and ride the carousel. Wednesday we went to the lake and fed the ducks. Thursday was spent at the bowling alley. The boys had never been bowling before and were excited they were going to get to do "real live" bowling. We all had a fun time and enjoyed our visit. Thanks May-May and Paw-Paw for a great week.

Trip to the Tennessee Aquarium

The boys were on Spring Break this week so we went to spend the week at May-May and Paw-Paw’s house. John was in Chicago for the week closing out an audit. Tuesday we all went to the Tennessee Aquarium. Jake has a new fascination with sharks. He loves them, so when we told him we were going to the aquarium, he was so excited. He couldn’t wait to see some real sharks. They had several big sharks there. He liked them at first but once they started coming up close to the glass he was a little afraid and would step back and watch them from afar. He picked out a stuffed shark and some little toy sharks at the gift shop and has not stopped playing with them. He told Paw-Paw that he likes sharks better than Nascar now. That’s saying a lot. Tyler liked the stingrays. Luke had a blast. He wasn’t scared of anything and would run right up to the glass and say, “fish, fish” at everything he saw. We all had a great time. Jake is already asking to go back.

Number 2

Tyler came home from baseball practice Thursday night and he was so excited. Their baseball uniforms had come in. He couldn't wait to pick out his number. He was hoping to be number 20, but they were numbered 1 to 13. There were three size smalls which is what he needed and they were numbers 1,2 and 3. So he chose number 2. He said since he was going to play 2nd base he would be number 2. I don't think he really cared what number he had just as long as he had a number on his back. The first thing he wanted to do when he got home from school Friday was to try on his uniform. He did and then did not want to take it off. He was proud that he looked like a "real" baseball player.

Tyler Turns 7

Tyler celebrated his 7th birthday this past weekend. Saturday we took him, Jake, Luke, and two of Tyler’s friends, Brandon and Avery to Chuck e Cheese. Tyler, of course, loved all the racing games there. We all got Frostys from Wendy’s afterwards and even though it rained all day we had a great time. Sunday we celebrated with all of the family at May-May and Paw-Paw’s house. Tyler got a lot of really cool gifts including some new Wii games and some baseball things. It was a great weekend.
