Jake's Preschool Graduation

Jake is officially a preschool graduate. He had his graduation breakfast Thursday morning and his ceremony that night. He did a great job and we are so proud of him. The teacher gave out awards at the breakfast for each student and Jake received an award for being the number expert. That is not surprising considering his love for numbers. I can't believe that he is already graduating preschool. It goes by so fast. He is excited though and ready to move up to Kindergarten in the fall.

Luke's First Trip to the ER

Luke had his first trip to the emergency room Monday. We were at an end of the year party for Jake at AirJump and while they were having their snack Luke decided that he wanted Jake's juice box. He had his own but that didn't matter. So he climbed on the table to reach for Jake's and in the process fell off the table and hit the corner of the chair on the way down. He had a pretty deep cut right below his eyebrow so we ended up in the ER where he got five stitches. It didn't seem to faze him a bit. While we were waiting he was climbing all over the chairs in the ER and running around. He didn't however like getting the xray or being strapped in a literal strait jacket to get his stitches. He was a real trooper though and back to climbing the fences at Tyler's baseball game that night. I am sure unfortunately that will not be his last trip to the ER. He is quite the mischievous daredevil.

Jake's Birthday Party

Saturday we celebrated Jake's 5th birthday and Mother's Day at our house. Jake loved all his presents and had fun spending time with his cousins. His birthday party was centered around sharks, his new favorite fascination. He knows all the different kinds of sharks. He got plenty of toy sharks and some Kenny the shark dvds. Uncle Joe even gave him a mounted shark that he had caught while deep sea fishing a few years ago . Jake couldn't believe that it used to be a real live shark. It now hangs over his bed. It was a great day. We enjoyed visiting with our family. John even found time to plant his garden with help from Pop. Thanks Pop for all your help. Happy Birthday, Jake. We love you!

Tyler's First Baseball Game

Well the day finally came for Tyler. He has waited so long for his first real baseball game. We have had so much rain lately that the games kept getting postponed, but yesterday was beautiful and the perfect day for a game. The game started at 6:00 but Tyler was dressed and ready at 4:30. He was so excited. They had a great first game and won 13-1. Tyler went 3 for 3 with two singles and a double. He also fielded a ground ball at second base and made a great throw to first. He was thrilled and had a great time. I think John enjoyed his first coaching experience as well. He had as much fun as Tyler.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend with many egg hunts and Easter parties. Thursday Jake had his school party and egg hunt. Saturday our church had Breakfast with the Bunny and a big egg hunt and on Sunday we headed up to LaFayette after church to celebrate Grandma and Katie’s birthdays. The whole family was there and we had a great visit. It is fun to have all the parties and egg hunts but we remember the real reason we celebrate, He is Risen!

Welcome to the White House Sadie

Today we have added a new addition to our family. Tyler has gotten the much anticipated dog he has been promised for so long. After going back and forth about what kind of dog to get, we decided to take my brother Joe's dog, Sadie the boxer. He has two other dogs and three was just too many. I think we made the right choice. I know it has only been one day but she is such a sweet dog. I think she will be just the right dog for our family. Tyler loves her already. They have already been playing fetch and "follow the dog" around the backyard. Thanks Joe and Stacy for such a great dog. Now you can officially be Sanders 3 dogs minus 1.

The Rest of Spring Break

The rest of Spring Break week included a trip to the mall, feeding the ducks, and bowling. At the mall the boys got to visit the Easter bunny and ride the carousel. Wednesday we went to the lake and fed the ducks. Thursday was spent at the bowling alley. The boys had never been bowling before and were excited they were going to get to do "real live" bowling. We all had a fun time and enjoyed our visit. Thanks May-May and Paw-Paw for a great week.
