Back to School

The boys started back to school this week. They wouldn't admit it, but I think they were both ready. Tyler started third grade and his teacher is Mrs. Schrier. Jake started first grade and his teacher is Mrs. Hursey. They both seemed like great teachers at open house and I have heard excellent things about each one, so I was pleased. So far so good. They both have had a great week and we are looking forward to a great year. The pictures aren't the greatest. They are too dark, but you can get the idea.

New Pictures

I took the kids to Target this week and had their pictures made. They turned out pretty good. I was able to get a good shot of each kid and then a good one of them together. Megan didn't want to smile but at least she wasn't crying.

Luke's a Big Boy Now

It has been a long road but I think Luke is finally potty-trained. He has been wearing underwear and staying dry for almost three weeks now. He even asked to wear underwear last night instead of a pull-up and was dry this morning. He was by far the hardest one to potty train, probably because he is so strong-willed, but once he decided he was ready it didn't take long. We only had to take his Nintendo DS away from him a couple of times before he decided it was time. He's been doing great and we are so proud of him. Way to go, Luke!

Six Months Old

I can't believe that Megan is already half a year old. She is very attentive and loves to sit and watch her brothers. She will follow them with her eyes and look for them when she can't find them. She wants to be a part of what is going on. She is reaching for anything she can't get her hands on and putting everything in her mouth. Still no teeth, though. She is still eating good and sleeping good at night. Happy half birthday, Megan!

Fishing

John took the boys fishing to a lake here in town Monday evening. They all had fun and each caught a fish. John only lost his patience once for a few minutes when Luke had his line tangled within the first five minutes. Here are a few pictures.

Luke's 3rd Birthday

We had Luke's birthday party this last Saturday. We had a great time with family and I think Luke was pleased with his presents. He got his own Nintendo DS along with some Diego and Wonder Pets games for it. He was very excited to have his own white DS. He had been driving us all crazy wanting to play Tyler and Jake's. He would wake up early before everyone else and be downstairs playing theirs. He also got a Georgia bat and ball, a Radio Flyer tricyle, and a basketball goal for his room. That night we went with some friends to the firework show in Villa Rica. It has become a tradition that the boys look forward to each year. Megan did great. She enjoyed watching the boys play before the fireworks started and then fell asleep and slept through the whole show. It was a great day. John and I were laughing the other day because we should be saying that we can't believe that Luke is already 3, but instead it was, "Is he only 3?" It seems like he has been here a lot longer. He is a strong-willed child, but is also a lot of fun. He really is sweet and we wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. We love you Luke!

Five Months Old

Megan is five months old today. She is rolling over now and holding her head up really well. She is getting to be so strong. As soon as you lay her down she immediately rolls over. She is eating cereal and various baby foods. So far she seems to like everything she has tried. She is sleeping now most nights 7-8 hours, waking up around 5, eating and then going back to sleep for a couple of more hours which has been great. At her well-check appointment last week she weighed 18lbs, 9 ozs. and was 26 1/2 inches long. She was over the 95th percentile for both weight and height which isn't surprising by looking her. She is a big girl, but so sweet and such a happy baby. We love her so much.
